Membership Application – Magic City Disco

Please complete the application and submit it no later than midnight April 20, 2025 (no exceptions).

PLEASE NOTE: Magic City Disco is NOT a dance class. It is a social and performance club devoted to disco dancing. There are different membership levels. Performers dance and parade, and Support provide water, carry signs, engage with the crowd, and ensure events are safe and fun! Both Performers and Support may attend practice and have access to our Dance Library and member website. However, auditions are required to perform, and those chosen to perform have a different membership fee.

Magic City Disco) is about dancing and spreading joy. Members of Magic City Disco embrace the following:
 a love of disco
 a desire to share that joy with others
 an understanding that there is NO discrimination against any other person due to race, age, sexual orientation, sports team, religion, lack of religion, or political affiliation
We respect one another’s opinions, but we do not discuss ANY potentially divisive topics at practice or performances.

Please review the following stipulations regarding auditions and krewe selection:
 An audition for performers will be held Tuesday evening, May 6, 2025. Times will be announced and details provided to all approved applicants. All individuals who complete the performance audition successfully and are invited to join MCD as a performer, will join as Support Members for 90 days. The cost is $150 for this level of membership. During this time, they are expected to learn dances from the dance library, attend practice regularly (at least 75% of scheduled weekly practices), abide by the MCD Philosophy, and assist with parades and
performances.
 If the above requirements are met, members are invited to continue at the Performer level. They will pay an additional $150 and order a performer’s uniform (at their own expense ~ $200-$300).
 At 90 days, If the member is not able to advance to a performer level, either due to not being invited to join at that level (did not meet above requirements), inability to commit to practice, or pay fees, the member may (1) remain in a Support role or (2) receive a refund of the Support Membership fee, withdraw from the group, and consider an audition for the 2026/2027 Season. Fees after 90 days are not refundable.
